About Us

Heart of the Deernicorn is a studio and workshop based in downtown Olympia, WA where we design, manufacture, publish, and ship our award-winning games all over the world. We create games where art drives the gameplay and players all have equal share in the story. Many of our game components are handmade in our workshop. We believe in the power of games to inspire creativity and to empower you and your friends to form deep connections.

Limited Edition Prints and Apparel

Deernicorn’s limited edition prints are hand screen printed with vivid water based inks on 100% cotton.

Community Contributions

Deernicorn is committed to supporting our local community through contributions to high impact organizations. Misprinted and unsold clothing is donated to direct service organizations that serve our homeless neighbors in downtown Olympia. We’ve donated personal protective equipment (manufactured in our workshop), games, and money to organizations whose missions we believe in, including: Interfaith Works, Just Housing, the YWCA, Safe Place, and others.

Scholarships and Equity Discounts
We offer scholarships for marginalized individuals for all of our events. We have recently begun offering Equity Discounts through our Kickstarter campaigns — providing a discounted option for marginalized individuals and/or people who are experiencing poverty.

Land Acknowledgement

The Heart of the Deernicorn workshop is located on the shores of Steh-Chass, named after the Steh-Chass Band of Indigenous people of the Squaxin Island Tribe who have stewarded this land since time immemorial and who still inhabit the area today. (https://squaxinisland.org)
